Evergreen Park School District 124 has received special recognition from the Midwest PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Network for promoting positive cultures and preventing problematic behaviors across all five of its schools.
Southeast School, Northwest School and Southwest School have earned Platinum Recognition status for the 2017-18 school year, while Central Middle School and Northeast School have attained Gold status.
“I am grateful to all of our students, parents, and staff for working together through this system to improve the climate for teaching and learning for all of our students,” D124 Superintendent Dr. Robert Machak said.
Platinum Recognition is earned when school teams can document at least 80 percent fidelity on two of the three tiers of the school-wide PBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory, and at least 70 percent on the third. Other recognition criteria include the number of student office referrals for behavior, the number of out-of-school suspensions and evidence that supports student growth and achievement through the use of the PBIS support system.
