Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Gifted Education

Superintendent Dr. Robert Machak is hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Gifted Education from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the District 124 Administrative Office, 2929 W. 87th St.

A consultant from Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development will be on hand to present information to ALL parents – not just parents of students currently enrolled in Project TREE (the gifted program for students in Grades 3 through 8) – on the gifted program evaluation the Center will be conducting this year in District 124.

This evaluation will help the D124 make program improvements regarding identification criteria, curriculum, and enrichment opportunities through feedback from all stakeholders. This meeting will provide ALL parents and guardians with an opportunity to learn more about the components of this year-long process and how our parents, staff, and students can participate in it.

Parent input will be vital to the success of this evaluation. Please email Dr. Machak ([email protected]) or call (708-423-0950) if you plan to attend this meeting, so the district can plan seating, AV, and handout details.
